The Cornwall Caledonian
Pipe & Drum Band
The band was first launched in Februrary 2002 and constituted as a
Cornish based band, but with strong Scottish connections, mainly from
its music and by the number of exile Scots which make up its musicians.
However it should be noted that it also boasts quite a large number
of Cornish personnel, so one could say that it fits nicely into a
true Celtic organisation.
The band meets three times weekly
for three, two hourly periods for Piping and Drumming tuition and
general band practice.
On Monday evenings we practice from 8pm to 10pm at the Lanner
Christchurch Hall
On Wednesday the Plymouth branch
of the Cornwall Caledonian Pipes and Drums practice from 7-30PM
-9-30pm in Plymouth, current venue can be obtained from Drum
Sergeant Matt Campbell, please see our contact page.
On Thursdays evenings we practice
from 8pm to 10pm at the
New Mabe Community Association Hall.
Tea and Coffee is always available
during these evenings and a jolly but practical atmosphere is achieved
during the tutorial periods. New members seeking tuition or affiliated
membership to the band are always given a warm welcome.
